Healthcare needs for families are largely unmet in public health systems due to system wide constraints and underfunding against a backdrop of rising healthcare demands. Compounding the problem, poor and rural populations often have no access to public healthcare facilities. Healthcare enterprises across the private sector (not-for-profit healthcare service providers as well as essential local healthcare actors e.g. local drug manufacturers, distributors, and insurance providers) who cater to the most under-resourced communities, are essential to fill the gaps in healthcare provision, but are often capacity constrained by skills and resources.
